1928年　京都に生まれる。
1949年　京都市立美術専門学校日本画科修了。
1951年　日本画で日展特選。（1953年）
1952年　伯父堂本印象とヨーロッパ旅行。
1955年　渡仏、パリ国立美術学校へ通う。（68年までパリ定住。）
1956年　アンフォルメル運動に参加。（62年に離脱。）
毛利眞美と結婚。
1957年　個展・スタドラー画廊／パリ（59年、62年）
ミシェル・タピエに"具体"を紹介する。
1959年　個展・マーサ・ジャクソン画廊／NY（67年、71年）
1960年　長女・右美、パリに生まれる。
1960年　個展・南画廊／東京（68年、72年、75年、78年）
1963年　第4回サン・マリノ・ビエンナーレ（金メダル受賞）
1964年　第32回ヴェネチア・ビエンナーレ (アルチュール・レイワ賞)
1979年　個展・パリ市立近代美術館
1983年　個展・南天子画廊／東京（86年、89年、95年、00年、05年、17年）
1987年　個展・西武美術館／東京、大原美術館／倉敷
2001年　フランス政府芸術文化勲章オフィシエ章

1928　Born in Kyoto.
1949　Graduated from Kyoto City Art School, Japanese painting major.
1951　Grand prize for Japanese painting, Nitten exhibitions. (1953)
1952　Traveled in Europe with his uncle Insyo Domoto.
1955　Studied at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Paris and lived
in Paris until 1968.
1956　Participated in the Informel movement. (until 1962)
　　　 Married Mami Mori.
1957　Solo exhibitions at Galerie Stadler, Paris. (1959, 1962)
Domoto introduced the Japanese art movement Gutai to the art
critic Michel Tapie.
1959　Solo exhibitions at Martha Jackson Gallery, N.Y. (1967, 1971)
1960　Daughter Yuumi born in Paris.
1960　Solo exhibitions at Minami Gallery, Tokyo. (1968,1972,1975,1978)
1963　Gold medal at the 4th San Marino Biennale.
1964　Arthur Lejwa prize at the 32nd Venice Biennale.
1979　Solo exhibition at Musee d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris.
1983　Solo exhibitions at Nantenshi Gallery, Tokyo.

the Japanese government.
